First Federal and Linfield College are proud to announce the continuation of the First Federal Community Internship program, which has been designed to harness the energy and skills of Linfield students to accomplish strategic goals for local non-profits. First Federal will be funding up to five $1,000 internships this year for Linfield students to enable them to take on short term paid internships with charitable organizations in Yamhill County during spring of 2012.
Organizations selected to receive a First Federal Community Intern must demonstrate that they have a project that will help them accomplish a specific goal for their organization, and be a fruitful educational experience for the intern. The program will focus on pairing interns with organizations to work on projects in one of the following three major areas of concentration: Program Development/Evaluation, Administrative Systems and Resource Development. The average internship will encompass 80 to 200 hours of work, dependent on the scope of the project and the number of credits for which the student registers.
To apply for a First Federal Community Intern, please click here. Once a pool of non-profit applications has been established they will be posted to determine student interest in each project. Interested students will have the opportunity to apply directly to the non-profit for the position. Once a non-profit has interviewed interested candidates and made a selection, Linfield and First Federal will evaluate all eligible projects (those for which there is joint interest between a student and a non-profit) and decide which projects will receive funding.
